Effective date: June 21, 2026
Vagabundos del Mar Boat and Travel Club, Inc. (“Vagabundos,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website, our member area and insurance quote and purchase tools, our online store, and our membership and insurance services (together, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

You can reach us using the details in the Contact us section below.

2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, such as IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
2.3 Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from our insurance partners and service providers in connection with quotes, policy issuance, renewals, and claims—for example, policy numbers, coverage details, and claim status.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage your membership and member account;
- generate insurance quotes and process insurance applications, payments, policy issuance, and renewals;
- support claims and coordinate with our insurance partners on your behalf;
- process and fulfill online store orders;
- operate community features such as caravans, events, casa rentals, classifieds, and travel-buddy tools;
- communicate with you, including service messages, the Chubasco newsletter, and bulletins;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only as described below:
- Insurance partners. To provide quotes, issue and renew policies, and handle claims, we share application and policy information with our authorized insurance agency, the underwriting insurer and its claims adjusters, and related travel-assistance and medical-evacuation providers. These partners are located in the United States and Mexico and use your information to underwrite, issue, service, and adjust your coverage.
- Payment processor. Payment details are handled by our third-party payment gateway to process transactions.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services for us, such as website hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support, and order fulfillment, under obligations to protect the information.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, legal process, or government requests, and to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vagabundos, our members, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, reorganization, or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. International data transfers
Because Mexican insurance policies are underwritten and serviced in Mexico, information you submit to obtain or use coverage may be transferred to and processed by our insurance partners in Mexico and the United States. By requesting a quote or purchasing a policy, you consent to these transfers.
6. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, support shopping-cart functionality, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. For more information, see our Cookie Policy.
7. Your privacy rights
7.1 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected, used, and disclosed about you;
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions; and
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and to limit use of sensitive personal information.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To submit a request, contact us using the Contact us details below. We will verify your identity before responding and may require additional information to do so. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
7.2 “Shine the Light”
California’s “Shine the Light” law permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
7.3 All users
Regardless of where you live, you may update your account information in the member area or by contacting us, and you may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those messages. We may still send you non-promotional messages about your membership, policies, or transactions.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your membership and policy history, comply with legal, tax, insurance, and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your account credentials and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Third-party links and services
The Services may link to or hand off to third-party websites and tools, including our insurance partners’ and payment providers’ sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, our Services do not currently respond to them.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
